Professor Sunday Olukayode Ajayi is the Pro-Chancellor of Caleb University, Lagos, and Chairman of its Governing Council. In that office he provides governance oversight and strategic leadership, working with the Council to set policy direction and to hold the University to its commitments in teaching, research and institutional growth.
As Chairman he works with University Management, the Senate, staff, students and other stakeholders to keep the governance framework aligned with the University's vision, mission and long-term objectives, and to sustain institutional effectiveness, accountability and quality assurance across the institution.
His stewardship comes at a significant period in the University's development. Caleb was founded on a commitment to academic excellence, character formation, innovation and service to humanity; under its Christian ethos and its motto, “For God and Humanity,” it continues to expand its academic programmes, strengthen research and innovation, and prepare graduates to make meaningful contributions to society in Nigeria and across Africa.
